We are blessed by the support of our parishioners and benefactors who make the mission of our parish and school possible. There are many ways to give of time, talent, and treasure at St. Mary Catholic Parish.
Make a Commitment to St. Mary Parish!
Regular Sunday Collection (RSC)
Bring your offertory envelope with cash or check to the Vigil or Sunday Mass and deposit it into the offertory basket. You can also mail or bring it in to the parish office during office hours. Please contact the parish office to register at St. Mary Parish to begin receiving envelopes, or contact us if your address is changing.
Online Giving (OSV)
Automate your giving on Our Sunday Visitor's (OSV) Giving Hub! OSV is safe, secure, easy to use, and consistent. OSV allows for one-time and recurring donations (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually). Offertory, Memorial and Fr. Redmond Memorial Scholarship donations can be made on our OSV portal.
Faithful Legacy
Leave your legacy at St. Mary Parish! Our resources and partnership with the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) can help in your estate planning. Please visit our Legacy Giving Page to learn more and to view the Faithful Legacy pamphlets, or contact Fr. Scott Goodfellow to make your mark at our parish and school with your legacy gift!
Scholarships
Every parish is responsible for supporting Catholic schools. St. Mary Parish in Chardon and St. Patrick Parish in Thompson are blessed to support St. Mary School to make it possible for families to choose an academically excellent, affordable, and irresistibly Catholic education. Read below on various opportunities. Contact Linda Ropchock in the business office for more information.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
If you are 70 ½ or older, you may be able to make a gift of a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA that will help us in our ministry and reduce your taxable income. Talk to your advisors and IRA administrator for more information and to be sure that your IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution gift is made directly from an IRA to a qualified charity such as our parish. Questions? Contact Linda Ropchock in our parish office at 440-285-7051 x112 or Jean Ann Montagna of the Catholic Community Foundation at 216-696-6525 x8070 or visit www.catholiccommunity.org/ira.
Special Collections and Campaigns
Our parish supports the initiatives and needs of our local, diocesan, and universal Church community. We participate in the Catholic Charities Annual Appeal each year to support the work of Catholic Charities in our diocese.
If you are a registered parishioner, special designated collection envelopes are mailed to you throughout the year to support these works of the Church. Periodically, we also take up emergency collections to assist with disaster relief efforts. Your contribution may be placed in a designated envelope if one is available and deposited in the same way as the regular Sunday collections. If no envelope is available, your cash or check donation should be clearly marked with a memo describing its designation.
We have been blessed to be part of our Heart of a Shepherd Campaign to raise money to renovate our seminaries, create an endowment for newly ordained priest debt relief, and to fully fund the retired priest pension. 80% of every donation now received comes back to St. Mary Parish to assist with capital projects including the construction of a new rectory and replacing the church roof. Please visit the Heart of a Shepherd giving page or contact Debra Sudy (216-696-6525 x3670) at the Catholic Community Foundation to make or update your pledge.
