Dear Parish Family, We are pleased to offer our July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024 financial report. More than numbers on a sheet, a parish financial report captures the life and energy of a parish, the generosity of the people, and the various initiatives undertaken for the year, both spiritual and temporal. 2024 Annual Report
Our offertory collections are strong as parishioners continue to respond to our Faithfully United parish stewardship program. We also had a record year with the Angel Scholarship Fund (ASF) with over $265,000 in contributions. I am proud to say that St. Patrick Parish in Thompson was responsible for over $32,000 of that total! I cannot overstate the importance of every family’s investment in the ASF. As you will read in the next paragraph, we are moving in a great direction for our school, and I am so excited about the year ahead!
With the Angel Scholarship Fund and EdChoice scholarships, we were able to lower our parish subsidy to just over $17,000 for the year to make up for the school deficit! To put this in perspective, our typical subsidy to the school is between $180,000 and $300,000. This drastically lower subsidy number indicates a path towards future sustainability and continued growth for our school. It means we can do more for our students, teachers, and parish. This fiscal year, we are focusing on increasing teacher compensation to retain and recruit top talent, and to give our teachers a salary that is more commensurate with public school teacher salaries.
We allocated over $500,000 in capital projects this year without touching any of our parish investments. This number represents the replacement of the church’s roof and HVAC units, the replacement of the flat roof over the Banquet Room, kitchen, cafeteria, ABC room, and school lobby, the installation of a new Carillon digital bell chime system, and many other smaller projects. We also had over $120,000 in school safety grants to install new security cameras, a new security access system, new security doors, new walkie-talkies, and anti-ballistic window film. These grants allow our school to foster a safe and healthy learning environment for our families.
Most importantly, all of the above encapsulates the main point of our parish family growing as disciples of Jesus Christ in our stewardship and witness to God’s love. I am so blessed and proud to be part of our parish family. During this final year of the Eucharistic Revival, may we seek out Jesus Christ together in the Eucharist. He is the source and summit of our faith. We need Him. May the gesture of our hearts kneeling in adoration and our hands open to receive Him in the Eucharist inspire us to become holy evangelists with the heart of Christ to all in our community!
