We've certainly had a lot to celebrate the past two months! Together, we've celebrated the Easter Season with all of its holy days, Fr. David Verbsky's Mass of Thanksgiving, Deacon Larry's 25th Jubilee, Fr. Spisak's 40th Jubilee, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, and the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. These have been some tremendous celebrations where we've honored our Lord through His work in particular people in our parish and at particular moments of our salvation history such as the Resurrection and Pentecost. As we enter back into Ordinary Time, we now look at the entire mystery of our salvation rather than at a particular feast or celebration of our faith. I would like us to focus not on 'settling' into Ordinary Time, which often happens over Summer for many Catholics, but rather finding opportunities in this time to reignite the fire in our hearts for a relationship with our Lord.
National Eucharistic Revival 2022-2025 One particular way we can reignite the flame of faith is by joining in prayer and increased devotion through the National Eucharistic Revival that will be gaining steam from now through the Summer of 2025. The mission of this Eucharistic Revival is to renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. The vision is to inspire a movement of Catholics across the United States who are healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist—and who are then sent out on mission “for the life of the world.” I invite you to visit https://www.eucharisticrevival.org to sign up for weekly newsletter updates and access some awesome video content to learn more about the supreme gift of the Eucharist and increase your devotion to our Eucharistic Lord. Make some time each day to spend with our Lord in prayer, come to the church to pray, come to a daily Mass, and come to spend time in Adoration on Wednesday afternoons.
Playground Demo and Install Please be aware that the removal of the old playground will begin this weekend to prepare the area for the installation of the new playground later this summer. Please follow all signage and markings in that area during this demolition and installation period. We are blessed by all who have donated to make the playground a reality for our parish and school family! I am especially proud of our school students who spent a lot of time researching equipment and color schemes to make this new playground the best it can be.
Daily Mass Time Change in July Please be aware that the Tuesday Mass time will change to 8:30 a.m. starting on July 5, and the Friday Mass time will change to 7:30 a.m. starting on July 7. This change reflects the new School Mass time which will be moving from last year's Friday afternoon time to the Tuesday 8:30 a.m. Mass.
I hope you will consider celebrating daily Mass with our parish and school community once a week or more. It's a great way to enter into this time of Eucharistic Revival!
Handling Solicitors I've heard a few parishioners express concern about solicitors being present in our parking lot after our weekend Masses. Please let one of the ushers, the priest, or deacon know if you notice or are confronted by anyone soliciting on our parish property. We have a protocol in place to help these people. I would advise you pray for them but not hand them money. We want to help people in need, and there is a process we have in place to make sure the need is real and that we are equipping the persons in need with the resources that will truly help them.
