Dear Parish Family, This weekend we celebrate Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The Eucharist is a meal, a memorial sacrifice, and the real Presence of Jesus Christ. When we gather to celebrate Mass, all of these realities come together to unite us in Christ. This weekend we will have a procession after our noon Mass from the church, through Chardon Square, and back to church. If you've never been part of a Eucharistic Procession, let me tell you that it is a powerful reminder of our Lord's Presence and love for our local community, a triumphant display of His victory over the powers of evil in the world, and a beautiful way for you and me to share our faith in following Christ wherever He leads us. I hope you can join us for the procession or, if you cannot walk the route, join us near the Chardon Square gazebo for a Benediction blessing as we process through our Square. I am excited for our Inaugural Golf Outing this Friday in memory of Coach Mare von Lindern, our long-serving PE teacher in the school, who passed away last year. We have over 100 golfers signed up for Friday's tournament, and many others coming to the dinner and evening festivities following the golf outing. Pray for good weather and even better strokes! The Servants of Mary Center for Peace in Windsor, Ohio is selling benches with custom name plates and brick pavers. Many of our parishioners visit and support the Center. I find it to be a true place of peace and restoration. In fact, we are hosting our staff retreat there in July! If you are interested in supporting the Center with a brick or bench donation, please pick up an order form in the back of church today. If you cannot afford to purchase a whole brick or bench, you can write a check to St. Mary Parish with memo "Servants of Mary Bench/Brick" and we will pool the money together to get a bench and/or brick in honor of the parishioners of our parish.
