This is a monumental week for the Diocese of Cleveland as Bishop-Elect Michael Woost is ordained to the episcopacy and becomes an auxiliary bishop for our diocese. I am excited to attend his episcopal ordination this Thursday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
Some of you might remember Fr. Mike Woost from the times he presided and preached at Mass in our parishes. He taught many priests, deacons, and lay pastoral ministers sacramental and liturgical theology at St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School. Fr. Mike has two brothers who serve as priests in our diocese as well, Fathers Dave and Tom Woost. We are blessed by Fr. Mike's faith, knowledge, and love of our Lord. Please pray for him in a special way this week. You can watch his episcopal ordination this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the following link: https://www.dioceseofcleveland.org/events/2022/08/04/episcopal-ordination-of- bishop-elect-woost
This week also commemorates my one-year anniversary of serving the parish communities of St. Mary's and St. Patrick's. What a great year it's been for me, as I pray and hope it has also been for you. I have learned and grown so much, especially by receiving the warmth of your love and generous reception of my priesthood into our parish life. I am proud to minister with you and to you as Christ's shepherd.
