Dear Parish Family,

  It is with much sadness that I write this letter. Sunday evening, May 9, Fr. Dan Redmond was found deceased in the rectory. At the time of this writing we do not know the cause of death or what the arrangements will be. Fr. Dan was a great asset to both St. Mary and St. Patrick parishes.

  He was a dedicated spiritual leader and took great pride in both parishes. During his time as pastor he faced many challenges beginning with the shootings at Chardon High School shortly after his arrival, then the loss of his mother, and then being assigned administrator/ pastor of St. Patrick parish. During the time of his pastorate, our parishes have grown both physically as well as spiritually. He will be greatly missed.

  For now let us pray for Fr. Dan, his family, and our entire parish community that we will be consoled by our loving, merciful, forgiving God. And that He will guide us through these difficult times.

  May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
