A rectory is a residence provided by the parishioners for the priests assigned to live at the parish. We are blessed to be able to house our Pastor and Parochial Vicar at our current parish rectory. The time has come for a new rectory to be built that will accommodate the current and future needs of our parish. Our parishioners share a common vision with the new rectory to provide a comfortable, communal living space for our priests for rest and prayer, and to provide an attractive residence for seminarians, retired priests, and visiting priests. We believe this vision translates to a healthy, vibrant parish focused on growth in ministry, community, and formation.
We invite you to review the Rectory Proposal Slideshow in the documents section which was presented during the November 2023 Town Hall meetings. This slideshow reviews the details, process and timeline up to that date. After these presentations, parishioner feedback was received and presented in aggregate to the Rectory Building Committee formed in December 2023 to help Fr. Scott in the decision-making process. This committee is represented by Parish Staff, Parish Council and Finance Council representatives from St. Mary's and St. Patrick's, and parish representatives with project management and construction experience.
After considering parishioner town hall feedback and input from Parish Council and Finance Council, the Rectory Building Committee recommended Payne & Payne as the builder of choice. The recommendation was approved by the Diocese of Cleveland and communicated to parishioners in March 2024. Payne & Payne will conduct site surveys and finalize design options and construction costs with Fr. Scott this Spring. These items will be communicated to parishioners once they become available.
If you wish to make a contribution towards the new rectory, we have some giving opportunities available with rectory sponsorships and a prayer plaque memorial. Contact Fr. Scott Goodfellow ([email protected]) for more details or to set up a meeting if you have any questions or would like to learn more about giving opportunities.
Contact our Rectory Building Committee ([email protected]) with any direct feedback about the rectory you would like to share.
More information will be published on this page, as well as in the parish bulletin, as plans proceed.
