The fundraising campaign for the Father Daniel P. Redmond Memorial Scholarship Fund continues and your participation is prayerfully requested. We are asking that every parish household consider supporting this effort to create a lasting memorial to our late pastor, who passed away six months ago on May 9, 2021.
As previously stated, the three primary objectives of this Fund are as follows:
To provide a lasting memorial to Father Redmond, who served this parish as pastor for nearly ten years.
To recognize the importance of Catholic education, including support at the secondary level, in the growth, development and foundational learning of our children.
To recognize graduates of Saint Mary School who have committed to continue their education at a Catholic high school and to assist their parents in financing this learning environment.
Updated Information (as of 11/14/2021):
Last week, it was stated that contributions may be placed in the weekend collection basket, delivered to the parish office during the work week, or mailed to the parish. We add a fourth option this week. Electronic donations may be made through the following: https://osvhub.com/stmary/chardon/funds/fr-redmond-memorial-scholarship
While related, each of the three above-stated objectives seeks to address a separate element of our Catholic experience - recognizing a very good person who we have encountered (and who has led us) in our faith journey, supporting the teachings of our Catholic faith, and assisting those who wish to instill our Catholic beliefs and teachings in their children.
Donations of any amount are welcomed. The premium noted are simply inducements offered as further encouragement to your giving.
The progress in reaching our initial goal of $25,000 will soon be reported. If, by the grace of our Lord, this level is reached, the next target level will be established.
The Church of Saint Patrick, which was also served by Father Redmond as its Pastor, has also been asked to take part in this campaign.
Please consider the impact that Father Redmond made on your life and that of your family over
the nearly decade in which he was Pastor. And then, please consider making a contribution to help us reach the goal of funding at least one annual scholarship in his name. May God bless
you and may you be generous in response to this appeal.
