Dear Parish Family,
Happy Father's Day! A warm blessing to all of our dads as we thank them for the gift of their fatherhood this Sunday. Just like the title "Mother", the title "Father" has profound relational and spiritual meaning. We need men and women to be heroic fathers and mothers in order to witness to life-giving family values for our Church and for our world.
We thank our 8:00 am Mass choir director, Joe Trivisonno, for his many years leading music at this Mass. Joe has decided to hand over the responsibility of directing music for the 8:00 am Mass to Brenda Zapotosky who has sung in the choir and assisted Joe with music responsibilities for a number of years. Joe will continue to lead music at the 10:00 am Mass. We thank all our musicians and choir members for sharing their gifts to lead us in glorifying our Lord through song at Mass. Please read Brenda's introduction in today's bulletin.
I mentioned a few weeks ago that we would likely see the start of our church roof replacement begin in early June. Due to some unforeseen delays on our contractor's end, the roof project has been delayed by a few weeks. I will keep you posted with updates. Our timelines is to have the church roof replaced by the end of the summer at the latest.
On a personal note, please pray for my family this upcoming weekend. My sister, Elizabeth, is marrying her fiance, Joel, this coming Saturday, June 24. I am presiding at their Wedding Mass and spending the weekend with my family to celebrate. I am proud of my little sister "Lizzy" and her fiance, Joel, and ask you to join me in thanking God for bringing them together in the Sacrament of Matrimony!
I am yours in Christ,
Fr. Scott Goodfellow
