I wrote a few weeks back about the National Eucharistic Revival that all our dioceses and parishes are taking part in over the next three years. The mission of this Eucharistic Revival is to renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. The vision is to inspire a movement of Catholics across the United States who are healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist—and who are then sent out on mission “for the life of the world.” You can sign up for weekly newsletter updates and get access to some great video content to learn more and increase your devotion to our Eucharistic Lord at https://www.eucharisticrevival.org.
The Cleveland Diocese commissioned the logo stationed at the base of our tabernacle with the image of the Eucharistic host and chalice at the center surrounded by the words "Gathered, Blessed, Broken, Shared." This logo recognizes the convergence of our participation in the Synod on Synodality, our partaking in the National Eucharistic Revival, and the celebration of our 175th anniversary as a diocese. My prayer is that this logo will remind us of Christ's call for us to be one body and one spirit in Him as we journey together over the next few years. Christ gathers and blesses us around the altar so that we might be broken and shared in Him, with Him, and through Him. Truly, the Eucharist is what makes sense of our lives in every way. We need to foster a deeper devotion to the Eucharist, to hunger and thirst for Jesus in response to His hunger and thirst for Jesus in response to His hunger and thirst for us.
I am incredibly grateful to Snider Recreation and our PTU volunteers who assembled our playground last weekend. It looks fantastic! I am excited for our children to enjoy it for many years to come. You are cordially invited to the Playground Dedication Ceremony on Sunday, August 21 following the noon Mass. PTU is providing lunch afterwards. See the invite in today’s bulletin to RSVP for the lunch.
I will be away this week visiting friends and family in the area. Let's keep each other in prayer, and I look forward to seeing you after next weekend!
