For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. It is often called the “Door of the Church” as it is the first of seven sacraments. It initiates a person into the Catholic faith and welcomes them as a member of the church.

The Baptism of Infants are held on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. or during weekend Masses. Required Baptism Preparation classes are held every other month, with locations alternating between St. Mary and St. Gabriel.  Please call the Parish Office at 440-285-7051 at least two weeks in advance to make arrangements for your child’s Baptism.

The Baptism of Adults typically takes place during the Easter Vigil Mass (Saturday night before Easter) and after the person has gone through the R.C.I.A. program. R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is an ongoing inquiry program about the Catholic faith.

Our next Baptism Preparation Class will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at 7:00 pm. The program will begin in the Church and continue in the ABC Room.  Please call the Parish Office to sign up for this gathering of other new parents preparing for the baptism of their children.
